We had a fantastic time at the GAMM conference 2024 in Magdeburg from March 18-22! It was great catching up with old friends and collaborators, engaging in in-depth discussions during the poster sessions and presentations, and forming new partnerships. Nina Reiter presented her latest paper on “Microstructure-informed Regional Constitutive Modeling of Human Brain Tissue,” and Jan Hinrichsen shared his new research on “Using Active Learning and Surrogate Models in the Inverse Viscoelastic Parameter Identification of Human Brain Tissue.” Additionally, doctoral researcher Alexander Greiner showcased his work on “Modeling the Porous Properties of Brain Tissue.” Prof. Dr. Silvia Budday organized the Biomechanics Section S02 jointly with Dr. Kevin Linka from RWTH Aachen and we would like to thank all the contributors for the exciting presentations and engaging discussions!

We gained a lot of insightful feedback that’s sure to help in our future projects. Also a big thank you to the local organizers for their excellent coordination and hospitality!
