Research Overview

Figure 1: Methodological approach of the Institute of Continuum Mechanics and Biomechanics project: closely linking experiments, modeling, and simulation.

Our group uniquely combines a versatile set of experiments with continuum mechanical modeling and simulation to gain novel insights into the mechanics of brain tissue and to establish computational models that predict brain tissue behavior in health and disease. We aim to bring brain tissue modeling one step closer to clinical practice to eventually assist early diagnosis of neurological diseases and the advancement of novel treatment strategie
