Short Bio

Oskar Neumann studied civil engineering with a Bachelor’s degree, specialising in structural engineering, during which he also spent a 6-month internship abroad in India working on a stay cable bridge. He then continued his academic career with a Master’s degree in Mechanics at the Technical University of Darmstadt, where he worked as a research assistant at the Institute of Automotive Engineering and later at the Institute of Mechanics of Materials. He wrote his thesis on “Counting and evaluation of multi-axial local stresses due to non-proportional operating loads”. Currently he is working as a doctoral researcher in project B01: “In silico modelling of spinal cord regeneration” of the Collaborative Research Centre Exploring Brain Mechanics. His research focuses on the experimental investigation of the human spinal cord and the modelling and simulation of spinal cord regeneration.
