Jaimé Goedhals from the Brainiacs Lab was awarded the third-place poster prize at the 11th GACM Colloquium on Computational Mechanics, held in Braunschweig.
Her poster, Modelling Mechanics-Induced Damage of Brain Tissue, presented an overview of her initial research on modelling and simulating damage resulting from large deformations in brain tissue. The work addresses mechanically induced injury mechanisms and contributes to a better understanding of tissue response under extreme loading conditions.
This research is funded by the Horizon Europe programme within the project Mechanics-Augmented Brain Surgery (MAGERY, Grant No. 101116420).
