Short bio
Lucie is currently a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of Continuum Mechanics and Biomechanics (LKM). She studied Mechanical Engineering at the Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences, where she obtained both her Bachelor's and Master's degrees between 2014 and 2020. During her studies, she gained industrial experience through internships at Linde Material Handling and Maschinenfabrik Reinhausen (MR), where she also completed her Master's thesis, and worked as a student assistant at MESSKO GmbH.
From 2021 to 2025, Lucie pursued her PhD in a joint program between the University of Cádiz, Spain, and the Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences under the supervision of Prof. Antonio Gámez and Prof. Armin Huß. Her doctoral research focused on developing a finite element model of the distal femoral growth plate in adolescents while also investigating the mechanical properties of growth plate tissue in the lower limb. During her PhD, she also spent a research semester at the Medical University of Graz, working at the Institute of macroscopic and clinical Anatomy.
In April 2026, Lucie joined Silvia Budday's research group as part of the Collaborative Research Centre Transregio (TRR) 225.
Outside of research, Lucie enjoys hiking, mountaineering, and rock climbing. She is also actively involved in volunteer projects that promote education.
